The Park-Recreation Council of South Strabane Township currently maintains five (5) parks for the enjoyment of our residents and their guests.   The Parks & Recreation Council meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 6:30 P.M. in the Municipal Building. These are public meetings and we encourage any resident who has an idea or comment to present then to the board or attend a meeting.

The Parks & Recreation Council sponsors a variety of events that are listed on our Parks & Recreation Events Calendar.

Also, the Council is always interested in volunteers to assist at Council -sponsored events, on an as-needed basis. Please call the Township office if you are interested in volunteering your time to help out at a Council - sponsored event.

Billy Bell Park – Handicap accessible; 6.3 acres; two baseball/softball fields, one soccer field, basketball court; playground equipment with sliding board, swings and spring rockers;  ½ mile walking trail with eight exercise stations; 80’ x 50’ pavilion with kitchen, tables and outdoor grill; electric, water and restrooms, capacity limit: 125 people.  Parking at old Pancake School. Located on Manse Street off Vance Station Road.





Driscoll Park – Handicap accessible; 2 acres; 20’ x 50’ pavilion with picnic tables, outdoor grill; small baseball field; new playground equipment, tot swing, spring rockers, merry-go-round, youth swings; 20 car parking lot; black top path to playground areas. Located on Locust Avenue near Wilbert Avenue.




Streator Park - .5 acres; 10’ x 10’ pavilion; one picnic table; small baseball field, small basketball court; playground equipment, swings, merry-go-round, climbing ladder, sliding board, see-saw, spring rockers.  Limited parking.  Located between Streator Avenue and Pierce Avenue.


Multi-Use Facility - Two basketball courts, one field hockey court. Located behind the Municipal Building.

Community Park
73 acres. 30’ x 50’ pavilion with picnic tables; porta-john; playground equipment; one climbing rock; ball field; 3/4 mile handicapped accessible walking trail. 40 car parking lot.

From Washington, Pa. take route 136 East 2.4 miles to Zediker Station Road, turn right on Zediker Station Road, go .9 mile to Floral Hill Drive, turn right on Floral Hill Drive, go .2 mile to community Park on left.
