DFES to Test for Firefighter Hiring List
South Strabane Township is seeking to establish a hiring list for full and part-time firefighters. Application information is available at the Municipal Building (550 Washington Rd. | Washington, PA | 15301) and is attached below.
Applications and proof of the following minimum qualifications are due by 4:00 pm on Friday, July 14, 2023:
- Age 21 at time of hire;
- PA Fire Academy Issued or Pro-board-certified Firefighter 1 Certification;
- PA Dept. of Health or National Registry Issued Emergency Medical Technician B;
- PA Hazardous Material Awareness Certification; and
- PA Class B CDL w/ air brake and tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Application packages which shall include a cover letter, resume, and a list of five work-related references are due by Friday, July 14, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. and shall be submitted in person to the Township Municipal Building (South Strabane Township, ATTN: Jordan Cramer, 550 Washington Road, Washington, PA 15301) or by email to jcramer@southstrabane.com.
Testing for this position will take place on Sunday, July 16th, 2023 at 0900 at Station 2, 172 Oak Spring Road, Washington, PA, 15301.
