Homeowner's Assistance Programs
The Redevelopment Authority of Washington County administers several housing programs that benefit low and moderate-income residents of the County. More information concerning the Redevelopment Authority can be found here.
The following Programs may be of interest to current and potential South Strabane residents:
Washington County Home Rehabilitation Program
- Must own and occupy home
- After rehab value cannot exceed $164,000
- All taxes including municipal, commonwealth, and federal must be current
- Cannot be in foreclosure
- May receive up to $24,500 for home repairs
Washington County Access Program
- Resident may be an owner-occupant or a tenant
- Resident must have a permanent, physical disability that restricts use of the home
- After rehab value cannot exceed $164,000
- All taxes including municipal, commonwealth, and federal must be current
- Cannot be in foreclosure
- May receive up to $15,000 for home modifications

Washington County Homebuyer Assistance Program
- First-time homebuyers to purchase an existing house in Washington County for their residence
- After rehab value cannot exceed $164,000
- Participant must be able to secure conventional mortgage
- Downpayment assistance available at 0% interest for a term of conventional mortgage
- Home rehabilitation assistance up to $24,500 available for repairs to the house

Washington County Whole-Home Program
- Grant assistance to low-income homeowners to make exterior repairs to their home
- Annual income less than the 65% Median Family Income for the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area
- After Rehab Value cannot exceed $209,000
- Property taxes must be current, no municipal, state or federal liens, not in foreclosure or bankruptcy and other eligibility criteria apply.
