Township COVID-19 Updates

RESIDENT NOTIFICATION

Due to the extraordinary circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 virus, the Township is taking proactive steps to protect the general public, as well as our employees, by limiting public personal interaction as much as possible and promoting “social distancing”.  As a result, the following policies have been implemented:

Issued: July 2, 2020

  • Do not enter Township Parks or use park amenities (i.e. walking trails, playground equipment, pavilions, etc.) if you are exhibiting symptoms associated with COVID-19.
  • Please share park amenities, including walking trails and open space, and notify others of your presence. When necessary, step aside to let others pass.
  • Observe all recommended personal hygiene guidelines established by the CDC and Pennsylvania Health Department.
  • Observe the CDC's recommended social distancing of 6 ft. from other persons at all times. Per PA Health Department guidance, patrons must wear a mask when unable to remain 6 ft. from others.

On March 16th, residents received a pre-recorded phone message via their land line from Police Chief Drew Hilk. The message from Chief Hilk encouraged residents to subscribe to the Township’s new emergency notification system, “CodeRED”. Residents may text the word “SHOUT” to 99411 to receive a direct link to enroll. Additonally, the link to enroll can be found on the Township's website under the "Services" tab. This tool will allow the Township to communicate with residents directly concerning emergency situations.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and keep the public informed though our website and Facebook page. All emergency notifications will be delivered through the CodeRED notification system.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding during this time, and we apologize in advance for any inconvenience that may occur. The above practices are being implemented to reduce personal contact and to slow the spread of the disease as recommended by the CDC.

We appreciate your compliance with these guidelines.
